About GasPriceProtest.com

What did you pay the last time you filled up your gas tank? $50, $75, even $100? More?

Gasoline prices are through the roof and your utility costs are sky rocketing. The price of oil has doubled over the past year while our economy is slumping.

But why?

Because of bad policy from Congress! Congress continues to block the development of most of America’s significant reserves of oil and gas. They would rather demagogue against ‘Big Oil’ and scheme up new tax increases.

Their answer to high energy prices is to make our gasoline and electricity even more expensive!

Well, we say NO to higher energy costs. We say NO to massive energy tax increases – like the so-called “cap and trade” plan and the “excess” or “windfall profits tax” on American oil producers – the liberals are proposing.

We say YES to common-sense, market-driven, energy policies that will increase competition, lower prices, and promote a more abundant and more reliable supply of oil.

And we say YES to exploring AMERICA’S abundant oil reserves – offshore, in Alaska, the Rockies, and elsewhere – to help meet our energy needs.

Of course, SAYING it is one thing; DOING it is another.

That’s where you come in. Please join our coalition through this online petition drive calling on the U.S. Congress to Make Gas Cheaper NOW

This petition calls on lawmakers to remove barriers to…

  • Increase American oil production and exploration, and

  • Build and expand U.S. refineries

This petition drive is a vital first step in our critical campaign to mobilize a determined, grassroots army of common-sense Americans against liberal environmental policies stretching back over three decades that have led to today’s energy crisis.

It is critical that we tell Congress that America needs a break from high gas prices, and this petition is one way to do it.  Please join with us and sign this petition to tell Congress to Cut the Gas Tax!

To this end, GasPriceProtest.com is a new grassroots campaign from a broad coalition of blogs, advocacy groups, and online communities.

GasPriceProtest is hosted and managed by FreedomWorks, a non-profit, non-partisan group working for economic policies that promote competition, innovation, and choice for consumers.
